SMP Launches New Ad Against Adam Laxalt: “Trust”

Washington, D.C. – Today, Senate Majority PAC is launching a new seven-figure ad campaign in the Nevada Senate race against Adam Laxalt.

The new 30-second spot, titled “Trust,” features Dr. Leanne Free, a local Obstetrician-Gynecologist, who highlights how Laxalt wants to make abortion illegal in Nevada and can’t be trusted to stand up for a woman’s right to make her own health decisions.

Laxalt has a long anti-choice record: he called the overturning of Roe v. Wade a “historic victory”; said it’s “sad” that Nevada protects abortion rights and that he’ll work to make Nevada a pro-life state; and as Attorney General, signed onto multiple legal efforts to restrict abortion access. If elected, Laxalt would give Senate Republicans the power to pass a nationwide abortion ban that would overturn Nevada’s state-level abortion protections. According to the Reno Gazette Journal, “a federal ban would supersede Nevada’s protections.”

The ad will reach Nevada voters in the Las Vegas market beginning Tuesday as part of Senate Majority PAC’s $29 million television reservation in Nevada.
