Susan Collins Called Out for Putting Maine Last in New WinSenate Ad
Today, WinSenate released a new television ad calling out Susan Collins for her failure to stand up to Donald Trump, choosing to put the health of Mainers second to partisan loyalty.
Susan Collins was the deciding vote to confirm Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch, who overturned Roe v. Wade and ended protected national access to abortion care. Despite claiming to support access to reproductive health, Collins has said she doesn’t regret her decision, going on to vote for dozens of Trump’s anti-choice judges. Collins also helped push through the largest cuts in Medicaid history, driving up premiums in Maine by an average of $886 and cutting critical funding for clinics in rural Maine, further widening the gap in affordable, comprehensive health care Mainers face.
“When it matters, Susan Collins caves to Donald Trump,” Nancy, an Auburn, Maine resident and former Susan Collins voter, says in the 30-second ad. “She was the deciding vote for Trump’s Supreme Court justices, who overturned Roe v. Wade, and the deciding vote for Trump’s Medicaid cuts. Susan Collins is totally out of touch.”
The ad will air on television stations throughout the state, as well as on digital streaming.
