New Ad: John Sununu Sold Out New Hampshire. Now He's Getting Rich Off It.

Today, WinSenate is putting $1.8 million behind a new ad calling out John Sununu for cashing in as a corporate lobbyist after Granite Staters fired him from the Senate.

After John Sununu was ousted in 2008, he signed up with Akin Gump – one of the biggest lobbying shops in Washington, D.C. – leveraging his connections as an ex-senator to advance the interests of corporations and foreign governments. Since then, Sununu has built a portfolio worth up to $2 million, loaded with the same pharmaceutical and oil stocks tied to industries he had a hand in regulating in the U.S. Senate and lobbied for. That includes up to $425,000 in drugmakers, and as much as $280,000 in oil stock that spiked after Venezuela and the war with Iran – causing Granite Staters to pay more at the pump.

“After voting for special interests, [John Sununu] got kicked out of the Senate and spent the next 15 years cashing in,” a group of Granite Staters says in the 30-second ad. “He went straight to work for one of the biggest lobbying firms in the country, helping Big Oil and Big Pharma while we paid the price. Higher costs for our prescriptions and gas prices, that’s John Sununu. John Sununu sold us out before. He will sell us out again.

The $1.8 million ad campaign will air on TV stations statewide, along with digital and streaming platforms.
