Dan Sullivan Once Again Refuses to End Trump’s Unlawful, Costly War

Dan Sullivan voted for the 14th time today to allow Donald Trump to continue his illegal war in Iran, once again leaving Alaskans to pay the price at the pump.

In an attempt to rescue his sagging poll numbers, Sullivan has been backing away from his long-held support for the war, speaking with the press about rising gas prices and even calling for a suspension of the federal diesel tax. But when given the chance to back up that talk with action, Sullivan once again voted to permit Trump’s war to continue.

The Iran War has already cost taxpayers nearly $38 billion, with an outsized impact in Alaska as heating fuel is costing up to $26 in some of the most remote parts of Alaska.

“Dan Sullivan doesn’t mean what he says, and Alaskans know it,” said Senate Majority PAC spokesperson Christyna Thompson. “His call to suspend the diesel tax was nothing more than a Hail Mary. And claiming gas prices are too high is pretty rich coming from someone who was actually begging Alaskans for gas money and has done nothing to bring costs down. Being a yes-man for Trump is Sullivan’s most obvious skill, so it should come as no surprise that he’s fallen in line once again.”
