Content Strategist

Senate Majority PAC (SMP) is seeking a content strategist for the 2024 election cycle. SMP is solely dedicated to protecting the Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate.

Position:

The content strategist will report to the digital director with members of the SMP digital team to produce compelling copy for various digital and broadcast ads that will run in key battleground states.

Responsibilities include:

• Draft scripts, social copy, and text for a wide array of digital assets;
• Ensure deadlines are met in a timely manner;
• Write and develop high-quality video scripts to reach targeted audiences in key Senate races;
• Work with outside vendors on various influencer programs;
• Draft creative briefs based on polling, research and key insights from our partners;
• Monitor social media and ads from our partners as well as the opposition;
• Respond quickly to developing news, polling and new research and adjust copy accordingly;
• Be receptive to feedback from multiple stakeholders;
• Staying up-to-date on latest news, creative trends and competitive races.

Qualifications and skills:

• Passion for storytelling;
• Vision to turn complex reports, polling, research into compelling and digestible copy;
• Strong point of view while also being open to feedback;
• Strong presentation skills, having confidence in your ability to pitch your creative ideas;
• Excellent writing skills;
• Highly organized;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours when needed;
• Previous campaign, advocacy or newsroom experience a plus;
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred but not required.
