Deputy Digital Director, Content

SMP is looking for a Deputy Digital Director for Content to help take back the Senate majority. This is a senior level position centered around informing, persuading, and mobilizing voters through effective online content.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build SMP’s in-house digital content team and manage the day-to-day operations, including managing junior level staff
  • Lead the creation and execution of a large-scale content creator program focused on Senate battleground states, including managing agency partners for this program, generating creative briefs, and approving content
  • Content creation for organic social platforms
  • Manage partnerships with external content creators and organizations
  • Work with the research team to oversee creator vetting, monitor social media, and place oppo on social media
  • Work with the communications team to create content that aligns with press objectives

Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of social media trends 
  • Experience working with content creators to produce content that is politically effective and on-trend
  • Experience managing social media accounts for political organizations or candidates
  • An understanding of the creative production process
  • Basic level of proficiency with Canva and CapCut
  • Advanced video editing, graphics, and animation skills (Adobe, etc) are a plus but not required
  • An ability and willingness to work and learn in a fast-paced, demanding environment 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and 4+ years of relevant experience in a political or advocacy environment
