Senate Majority PAC (SMP) is seeking a Digital Writer for an in-person position for the 2024 election cycle. SMP is solely dedicated to protecting and expanding the Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate.

Position:

The digital writer will report to the digital director and work with members of the SMP digital team to produce compelling copy for various paid digital persuasion and mobilization ads that will run in key battleground states.

Responsibilities include:

  • Draft scripts, social copy, and text for a wide array of digital assets;
  • Write and develop high-quality video scripts to reach targeted audiences in key Senate races;
  • Draft creative briefs based on polling, research and key insights from our partners;
  • Monitor social media and respond quickly to developing news, and adjust copy accordingly;
  • Be receptive to feedback from multiple stakeholders..

Qualifications and skills:

  • First and foremost, strong writer with 1-2 years of experience writing for paid media;
  • Strong point of view while also being open to feedback;
  • Experience reading polls;
  • Highly organized;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours when needed;
  • One to two years relevant experience on a campaign or advocacy group is strongly preferred;
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred but not required.
