ICYMI: Shady Sheehy’s Company Actively Lobbies the Federal Government as Conflicts of Interest Pile Up
Yesterday, Politico reported that Tim Sheehy’s company, Bridger Aerospace, which he founded and holds 10.4 million shares in, is actively lobbying Congress even while Sheehy campaigns for Senate as a supposed political outsider. A lobbying disclosure related to the House Interior Appropriations Bill, which allocates millions in federal funds, named Bridger Aerospace in a disclosure.
This new development raises real questions about who Sheehy would represent in the Senate if elected: the people of Montana or his own financial interests. After all, Bridger is almost entirely reliant on federal contracts for its financial success. As Bridger lobbies the government, Sheehy could be in direct position to personally benefit.
“Shady Sheehy can run but he certainly can’t hide how his company actively lobbies the federal government, even as he’s seeking federal office,” said SMP spokesperson Von Walker. “Montanans deserve better than a rich out-of-stater who would use the federal government to line his own pockets, to the detriment of the state of Montana and its people.”
