SMP Releases New Ad For College Football Fans, Spotlighting McCormick Mispronouncing Yuengling
This weekend, as Pennsylvanians across the state crack open a beer and watch some Penn State football, they’ll be treated to a new ad showing how Dave McCormick is so out of touch with the people he’s trying to represent that he doesn’t even know how to say “Yuengling.”
That’s right, this weekend across media markets on Fox and ABC, Senate Majority PAC will air a commercial with footage of McCormick butchering the name of this iconic beer during an interview earlier this cycle.
This new ad caps off a brutal week for carpetbagging McCormick.
To catch you up, this week McCormick’s team got into a Twitter fight with Pennsylvania institution Hershey Park. And following this up, McCormick tweeted out a news clip about crime taking place in Philadelphia…Mississippi. Apparently, McCormick is so out of touch with his own state he doesn’t know the difference between what’s going on in Mississippi versus Pennsylvania.
SMP spokesperson Hannah Menchhoff released the following statement:
“For Connecticut’s Dave McCormick, getting rich off outsourcing PA jobs wasn’t enough, now he’s attempting to fool people into thinking he’s an authentic Pennsylvanian in an attempt to buy a Senate seat. Unfortunately for McCormick, whether it’s getting into Twitter fights with Hershey Park, confusing Philadelphia, Mississippi with Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or mispronouncing the name of the state’s iconic beer Yuengling, Pennsylvanians will always see McCormick as the out-of-touch carpetbagger he is.”

Voice over: Here in PA we know our football, hoagies, and beer and then there’s Dave McCormick.
McCormick: “I thought you guys needed to be introduced to Yangling, Yangling beer.”
VO: Yangling? Maybe if he’d lived here, he’d know how to say it. But McCormick lived in a Connecticut mansion, made millions on Wall Street outsourcing jobs. Money he’s using to try to buy our Senate seat. DaveMcCormick, “Yangling,” he’s not from here and he’s sure not for us.
