Buddy Carter and Mike Collins Voted to Keep American Service Members in Trump's Illegal War

Today, Republicans Rep. Mike Collins and Rep. Buddy Carter voted against the Iran War Powers Resolution, enabling President Trump to continue his illegal conflict that has already claimed the lives of American service members. This failed vote leaves Congress with no authority to rein in Trump’s military actions as Georgia families face soaring gas prices and rising fertilizer costs. Collins and Carter have maintained steadfast support for Trump’s illegal war in Iran, despite broad opposition from the majority of Americans.

“Buddy Carter and Mike Collins are asking Georgians to promote them while they fail to stand for them. They both voted today to let Donald Trump keep waging an illegal war without a single check from Congress,” said Senate Majority PAC Press Secretary Christyna Thompson. “There is no version of today’s vote that puts Georgia first. If they’re already neglecting their constitutional duty in the House, why would Georgians trust either of them with a Senate seat?”

This is not Carter nor Collins’ first time backing President Trump’s unpopular agenda.
