Congress Passes Dan Sullivan-Backed Legislation that Screws Alaskan Families

Senate Majority PAC released the following after Congress passed the Republican tax scam legislation that will significantly harm Alaskan families by ripping away their health care and raising costs:

“Dan Sullivan screwed over Alaskan families, many of whom will now lose access to their health care coverage and pay more on everyday costs like utility bills and nutritious meals. This is not what standing with Alaska looks like, and Dan Sullivan will be forced to answer why he put the wants of billionaires over the needs of working families – we will make sure of that,” said Senate Majority PAC spokesperson Lauren French. “Sen. Sullivan’s betrayal is even more stunning after he publicly admitted the bill hurts Alaska’s families before caving to special interests.”

The Republican-passed legislation is expected to have a significant impact on Alaska, where 1-in-3 residents depend on DenaliCare to receive their health care. Nationally, an estimated 17 million people will lose access to their health care to fund tax breaks for billionaires.

Donald Trump’s disastrous legislation is already being featured in television and digital ads nationwide from groups like Unrig Our Economy, Climate Power, LCV, and Protect Our Jobs, and Majority Forward in states including Alaska, North Carolina, Maine, and Iowa.
