ICYMI: Dan Sullivan Lied to Alaskans About a $50 Billion Pipeline Deal That Doesn't Exist

WSJ: South Korea Contests U.S. Claims of New $50 Billion Alaska Investment

Dan Sullivan just got caught lying to Alaskans after he said the “Alaska LNG is happening thanks to a $50 billion+ investment from South Korea” – a claim South Korea says isn’t true. According to The Wall Street Journal, Seoul is contesting the claim Sullivan helped roll out on Wednesday, when he stood directly behind Donald Trump in the Oval Office and took credit for a deal that doesn’t appear to be real.

Trump called Sullivan “totally responsible for this pipeline” and repeatedly plugged his reelection campaign. That was before anyone in South Korea had signed off and agreed to the project. Within hours, South Korea’s top leadership, including President Lee Jae Myung himself, pushed back on the false claims.

“This is a massive lie Dan Sullivan echoed to score points with voters,” said Senate Majority PAC press secretary Christyna Thompson. “Sullivan stood in the Oval Office and sold Alaskans a $50 billion pipeline that South Korea says it never agreed to pay for. Alaskans have waited decades for this project. They deserve a senator who tells them the truth, not one who stages a fake deal right before Election Day to save his own job.”
