ICYMI: Ohio Woman Calls Out Moreno’s Support for a National Abortion Ban in New SMP Ad

Today, SMP launched a new ad, featuring an Ohio woman who speaks out against Bernie Moreno‘s support for a national abortion ban without exceptions. In the ad, Ohioan Mary Ann shares her heart-wrenching experience, where she had to terminate her pregnancy to save her life. She highlights how MAGA extremist Bernie Moreno consistently backs abortion bans, even when the life of the mother is at risk.

This ad comes as Bernie Moreno is under fire for his comments that suburban women are single-issue voters and that older women like Mary Ann have no reason to care about abortion access.

This ad is part of SMP’s $65 million investment in Ohio’s Senate race.

SMP Spokesperson Hannah Menchoff released the following statement: 

“Bernie Moreno thinks women over 50 shouldn’t care about abortion. In reality, women of all ages in Ohio and 57% of the Ohio electorate made their stance on abortion incredibly clear—they want to see their freedoms protected—just as Bernie Moreno continues to make his stance incredibly clear—he supports a national abortion ban. And while Moreno openly dismisses voters’ concerns, Ohioans will remember that when it comes time to vote.”

Mary Ann: This is not an easy story for me to tell. It’s, it was heartbreaking, um it was life-threatening, and you bury those things.
