New Ad: Mainers Are Paying for Trump’s Iran War. Susan Collins Is Profiting From It.

WinSenate today launched a $2 million ad campaign featuring Bill, a Leeds resident facing soaring heating and gas costs from a war Susan Collins voted five times to continue.

Heating oil in Maine has already hit a record $6.02 a gallon, up 81% from last year. About half of Maine households heat with oil, the highest share in the country, making the drastic jump in cost a significant challenge for families.

Collins voted five times to let Trump’s war in Iran continue without congressional approval. Meanwhile, her household’s natural gas investments gained up to $24,480 in the war’s first month, and her net worth has climbed to by nearly $10 million while she’s served in Congress.

“Susan Collins voted over and over for Trump’s war in Iran. It’s driving the cost of everything up, while Susan Collins is off getting rich from stock trading,” Bill says in the ad. “She’s not representing us, she’s taking care of herself.”

“Heating Oil” will air statewide on television, digital, and streaming.
