NEW AD: SMP Calls Out Ted Budd’s Extreme Anti-Choice Agenda

Washington, D.C. – Today, Senate Majority PAC is launching a six-figure television ad campaign highlighting Ted Budd’s long record of relentlessly attacking reproductive rights and making clear that he would be a rubber stamp for Mitch McConnell’s agenda of outlawing abortion nationwide, as first reported by NBC News. The ad comes amid the overturning of Roe v. Wade and Republican efforts to reinstate North Carolina’s 20-week abortion ban.

The new spot, titled “No Spin,” details Budd’s record of undermining women’s rights to make their own health care choices and directs voters to TedBuddAbortionBan.com, where they can learn more about his extreme agenda to outlaw abortion—even in cases of rape and incest.

“Ted Budd has a long record of being wildly out of step with North Carolinians on reproductive rights and now he’s doubling down on a dangerous agenda to criminalize abortion. Make no mistake: if Ted Budd has his way, he’d ban abortion with no exceptions, punish women, and throw doctors in jail—and voters are paying attention,” said Senate Majority PAC spokesperson Veronica Yoo. “The more voters learn about Budd’s extreme anti-choice agenda, the more they realize that he’s wrong for North Carolina—and that’s just one reason why they’ll reject him come November.”

The ad campaign will reach voters in the Charlotte market beginning Tuesday backed by an over $700,000 buy, building off SMP’s previous seven-figure investment in state.
