SMP Lifts the Curtain on Mike Rogers’ Ties to Big Pharma in New Ad “Worst”

Today, SMP launched a new ad in Michigan titled “Worst.” The ad lays out the hard facts of Rogers’ record of selling out Michigan families.

In Congress, Rogers voted to rip away Medicare benefits and fought against lowering prescription drug prices, and now he opposes a law that caps insulin costs. And while Michigan families struggled to afford life-saving medications, Rogers collected over $1 million in campaign donations from the drug industry.

His actions represent the worst of Washington and show why he’s utterly unfit to represent Michiganders in the Senate.

SMP Spokesperson Von Walker released the following statement:

“From blocking cheaper drug prices to shielding Big Pharma, Rogers has harmed Michigan voters again and again. And if he gets to the Senate, he’ll do it all over again.”

“It’s the worst of Washington. Mike Rogers got a million dollars from the drug industry and voted against letting Medicare negotiate lower prescription prices. Rogers even opposed the law capping the price of insulin. He voted to shield drug companies from legal liability when their defective medicines killed people and voted to take away guaranteed Medicare benefits. Mike Rogers sold us out to the drug industry.”
