SMP Statement on Wisconsin’s Senate General Election

Tonight, Wisconsin’s Senate news reports that the general election is set as Senator Tammy Baldwin will take on California Banker Eric Hovde.
Whether it’s claiming seniors shouldn’t vote, equating building homeless shelters in Africa with Black culture in Milwaukee, or his decision to skip out on a rural Wisconsin event to lounge on a beach near his Orange County mansion, Hovde has spent his candidacy demonstrating his utter disdain for all Wisconsinites.
And that’s not even to mention his out of touch agenda that’s too extreme for Wisconsin and poses a direct threat to hundreds of thousands across the state. Hovde has come out in total opposition to abortion. He’s also made it his personal mission to revive GOP efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would eliminate coverage for 850,000 Wisconsinites with pre-existing conditions. His disdain for this legislation is so absolute he called anyone who remains on their parent’s insurance in their twenties “lazy.” To complete Hovde’s MAGA agenda, the out-of-touch banker also wants to push Medicare into the hands of the private sector and force seniors to wait longer to receive Social Security benefits.
As the general election kicks off, Hovde enters with a large and growing number of voters who know the truth: Hovde is not fit to be Wisconsin’s Senator.
“Eric Hovde is a millionaire California banker who only cares about himself. And his dangerous, out-of-touch agenda makes him completely unfit to represent Wisconsin,” said Senate Majority PAC President JB Poersch. “Come November, Wisconsin voters will send Hovde back to his Laguna Beach mansion where he can take as many cold plunges as he wants, while Senator Tammy Baldwin continues her work to stand up for Wisconsin values and deliver for hardworking families.”
