Susan Collins Rubber-Stamping Trump’s Policies Highlighted in New WinSenate Ad

Today, WinSenate released a new television ad hitting Susan Collins for voting with Donald Trump 96% of the time, even when her actions hurt Maine.

For years, Collins falsely claimed to be a check on Trump, but she cast the deciding vote to deliver the largest cuts to Medicaid in history and voted for more than 100 of Trump’s anti-choice judges. Her votes allowed premiums to rise for Mainers by an average of $886, pricing thousands of Maine families out of receiving necessary medical assistance and reducing essential funding for rural health clinics. She also authored the $70 billion budget bill that funded ICE with no reforms or restrictions, while also repeatedly voting to support Trump’s war in Iran.

“Susan Collins was the deciding vote for Trump’s cuts to Medicare and Medicaid to pay for massive tax breaks for billionaires,” the narrator says in the 30-second ad. “She wrote Trump’s bill to increase ICE funding with no restrictions, no restraints, and voted to give Trump a blank check for his war in Iran while gas prices still soar. Collins has voted with Trump nearly 96% of the time, and she’s hurting Maine.”

The $2.1 million ad campaign will air on television stations throughout the state, as well as on digital and streaming platforms.
